Alex Melton Announces Debut Album ‘The Process’

Florence, South Carolina multi-instrumentalist Alex Melton – the artist who skyrocketed to multi-million streams with his genre-flipping punk songs reimagined as country anthems – is stepping fully into his own songwriting spotlight. Today he announces his debut full-length original album The Process, set for release on March 3, 2026 via Pure Noise Records.

Produced by label mate Alan Day of Four Year Strong (who also co-wrote several tracks), The Process is a deeply personal collection of 10 original songs that shift away from covers into introspective, heartfelt rock with pop-punk energy, emotional vulnerability, and melodic hooks. It arrives alongside the lead single “Look Up”, out now across all platforms.

“Look Up” is a raw anthem about breaking the cycle of self-sabotage and anxiety. As Alex explains: “Anxiety can make all the hypothetical worries seem so real. If you react according to your anxiety, then those worries were destined to become real. It takes a lot of work to break that self-fulfilling loop, but it starts with looking up. It starts with being eye-to-eye with your worries, problems, thoughts, and finding the beauty in the process of existing within them.”

The album as a whole grapples with big questions about life, meaning, and presence. Alex reflects: “I’ve spent a lot of my life working towards goals… get diploma, get degree, get job, get house, retire, end of level. So much time spent working toward the prize… But that’s so fleeting. We actually spend far more time in the middle of it all… What if the whole point was to enjoy the middle portion? To be present, and find joy in the small moments along the way?”

The Process confronts frustration, anxiety, injustice, and the unfairness of the world while celebrating love, striving, and the beauty in simply existing. It’s an honest attempt to embrace being “everything at the same time” – good days, bad days, and everything in between.

From Viral Covers to Original Storytelling

Alex Melton first gained massive attention by transforming pop-punk and emo classics into twangy country renditions – think Green Day, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy given a Southern spin. Those videos exploded on social media and streaming platforms, building him a dedicated fanbase and millions of plays.

Now, with The Process, he channels that same melodic sensibility and emotional honesty into fully original material. Teaming with Alan Day brings a polished yet raw production edge, blending pop-punk drive with introspective lyrics and anthemic choruses. This is Alex stepping out as a songwriter first – vulnerable, reflective, and ready to connect on a deeper level.
