Southern California roots-rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have released their latest single, “I Wanna Give It,” a soulful highlight from their upcoming album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, set for release on August 22, 2025, via Journeyman Records. A Song Born from Quiet Nights
Co-written during a touring hiatus with friends Ian Cullen and Shane Krevoy, “I Wanna Give It” draws inspiration from late-night acoustic jams on a San Juan Capistrano porch. Lead guitarist Henry James describes it as a “throwback” to those calming sessions, brought to life by producer Dave Cobb. The track blends country-leaning rock with a warm, personal vibe, reflecting a story of fearless love and reckless abandon, even without a guaranteed happy ending.
Part of a Powerful Album
“I Wanna Give It” joins a strong lineup of singles from Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, including “Keep Myself Clean,” “Dark Angel,” “Better Of Me,” “Highway,” and “Ashes in the Snow.” Recorded in Savannah, Georgia, with Cobb and mixed by Greg Gordon, the album captures the band’s live energy and emotional depth, exploring themes of love, loss, and resilience. It will be available on CD, digital platforms, and limited edition colored vinyl, with merch bundles also up for pre-order.
About the Band and Tour
Formed in 2011, Robert Jon & The Wreck—Robert Jon Burrison (vocals, guitar), Henry James (lead guitar, vocals), Andrew Espantman (drums, vocals), Warren Murrel (bass), and Jake Abernathie (keys)—have built a global following with their Southern-tinged rock-and-soul sound. After a successful European tour this summer, including stops in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, they’re back in the US for August headliners and festivals like Fargo Blues Festival and Telluride Blues and Brews Festival.
