Rival Sons delivered a scorching performance in Ipswich following their support slot at Black Sabbath’s historic Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park. The American rock band headlined the Corn Exchange, showcasing their vintage rock prowess to a thrilled audience.
Here’s the breakdown of an unforgettable night.
Coming off the back of supporting Black Sabbath on their historic Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park, Rival Sons head down south and show Ipswich how to rock.
Creeping Jean
The night started off with their one and only support act Creeping Jean with only a 30 minute set which was unfortunate because I could have easily listened to them all night! A 5 piece band from Brighton giving 60s / 70s rock vibes with an indie twist they did not disappoint! Kicking off their set with Ten Kisses, straight into The Rattle and then into Spice Rack. Firing songs off one after another keeping the high energy and Tempo up throughout their set not skipping a beat. Setting things up perfectly for the main act.

Rival Sons
Rival Sons lit up the Corn Exchange as soon as they came onto the stage opening up with End of Forever, Electric Man, and Open My Eyes. The band blended fan favourites with newer material keeping the energy high and the crowd engaged throughout the show. The atmosphere inside the venue was electric, with the packed crowd matching the band’s intensity from start to finish. Rival Sons fed off that energy, visibly enjoying the connection with the audience and delivering a show that felt as personal as it was powerful. With Jay Buchanan’s powerhouse vocals and Scott Holiday’s searing guitar work the show felt raw and refined. It was a fiery, soulful performance that proves why Rival Sons is one of the best live rock bands out there. Overall, it was a triumphant night for rock music, the performance more than delivered. Rival Sons gave the town a Monday night to remember proving once again that great live rock is alive and well.
