Robert Jon & The Wreck’s “Dark Angel” Ignites Southern Rock Renaissance as Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes Looms Exclusive Video, Limited Vinyl Deal, and Epic Tour Dates Amplify New Single’s Haunting Debut

Southern California’s Southern rock luminaries Robert Jon & The Wreck are igniting a rock renaissance with their latest single, “Dark Angel,” released May 30, 2025, via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. The track, a moody highlight from their forthcoming album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes (due August 22, 2025), has captivated fans worldwide with its evocative storytelling and country-soul groove. Produced by Grammy-winning icon Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Rival Sons) and mixed by Greg Gordon (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson), the single has racked up thousands of streams in its first 48 hours.

“Dark Angel” weaves a spellbinding tale of a mysterious woman in Savannah, Georgia—a figure blending memory, mirage, and muse. The song’s haunting lyrics and punchy riffs were crafted during a writing session at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, where guitarist Henry James collaborated with acclaimed singer-songwriter Leslie Satcher (George Strait, Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson, Patty Loveless, Vince Gill). “Leslie’s story of a chance encounter in a Savannah bar sparked the song,” James recalls. “Her wordplay flowed effortlessly, and recording it in Savannah added an eerie authenticity. Dave Cobb’s production brought out the Southern rock grit we love.” The official music video, released alongside the single, enhances the song’s cinematic allure, available now: [Insert Link].

Fan reactions are pouring in, with posts found on X hailing it as “a Southern rock anthem for the ages” (@SouthernRockFan) and “the soundtrack to a late-night drive” (@BluesRiffs). The band has responded by releasing an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, detailing the recording process in Savannah, where they lived communally—eating, writing, and jamming together under Cobb’s guidance. Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes promises a rich tapestry of emotions, featuring a string of standout singles: the swaggering “Better Of Me,” the electrifying “Highway,” the reflective “Ashes in the Snow,” the smoldering “Long Gone” (co-written with John Oates), and the high-octane “Sittin’ Pretty.” Frontman Robert Jon Burrison shares, “This record is our soul laid bare. Stepping away from our daily grind to focus on these songs in Savannah with Dave Cobb unlocked a new level of chemistry. Every track, from the hard-driving rockers to the heartfelt ballads, reflects who we are right now.” The album’s ten tracks showcase the band’s sharp musicianship and soul-baring lyrics, recorded with the full lineup: Burrison (vocals, guitar), James (lead guitar, vocals), Andrew Espantman (drums, vocals), Warren Murrel (bass), and Jake Abernathie (keys).

Pre-order Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes now and unlock a limited-time offer: 15% off limited-edition colored vinyl with code WRECK15, available until June 7, 2025: [Insert Link]. The album will also be released on CD and digital platforms, with special merch bundles including an exclusive shirt and bandana.
