Kris Barras’ Hollow Souls Drop “Bad Things” feat. Chris Tapp | EP and 2025 UK Tour with Troy Redfern Announced

Kris Barras’ new UK blues-rock collective Hollow Souls has released their third single, “Bad Things,” featuring Chris Tapp from The Cold Stares, available on all streaming platforms since yesterday, Thursday, July 31, 2025. Watch the official music video here. The band has also announced their self-titled debut EP Hollow Souls, set for release on October 10, 2025, and a 20-date Autumn UK tour with special guest Troy Redfern, with tickets available via The Gig Cartel.

Bad Things: A Collaborative Blues-Rock Gem

“Bad Things” marks Hollow Souls’ third single, following “Borderline” with Jared James Nichols and “Shotgun” with Jon ‘Marv’ Harvey from Monster Truck. The track, co-written by Barras and long-time collaborator Josiah J Manning, teams up with Tapp, a key figure in The Cold Stares—a duo turned trio from Kentucky, now based in Indiana. Known for their fresh blues and southern rock sound, Tapp’s songwriting has graced video games and TV commercials. Recorded remotely from Tapp’s Evansville, IN, studio, the song blends his cool verses with lead vocalist Phoebe Jane’s punchy choruses, creating a devilishly upbeat, swampy earworm.

Barras shares, “I have admired Chris and the work of Cold Stares for a long while… I knew instantly he would take this song up ten notches. He did, and I’m so grateful to have him involved.” Their friendship, sparked on the Joe Bonamassa ‘Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea’ cruise, fuels this collaboration, with Tapp adding his unique flavor to the track.
