Rootsy singer-songwriter Connor Selby has released his new single “Amelia,” a heartfelt folky ballad that marks a significant milestone in his career. Available now with a video here, the track is the latest offering from his upcoming album The Truth Comes Out Eventually, set for release on August 29, 2025, via Provogue. Alongside this musical chapter, Selby has announced a UK tour for August and September 2025, promising fans an intimate look at his evolving artistry.
Amelia: A Personal Journey in Song
“Amelia” traces its origins to Selby’s teenage years, inspired by the delicate soundscapes of Nick Drake. The song, which he has held onto for years, reflects a deeply personal story. Selby shares, “It’s been lurking at the back of my mind since my late teens… written about someone dear to me many years ago who was struggling with mental health issues and about my feelings of helplessness in not really being able to do anything to help her, but still loving and caring about her nonetheless.” This single sets the stage for the album’s theme of emotional exploration, following the earlier release of the title track.

The Truth Comes Out Eventually: A New Chapter
Slated for release next month, The Truth Comes Out Eventually showcases Selby’s diverse musicality, blending rootsy authenticity with influences from ballroom big band energy to smoldering guitar heroics. The album opener “Someone” introduces his bandleader mode, while tracks like “Amelia” highlight his folky troubadour side. Selby explains, “The songs are about my feelings of being in the world and not really feeling like I belong,” using music as a form of emotional communication. Praised by MOJO as “an Eric Clapton for the 2020s,” Selby’s voice joins the ranks of modern roots icons like Leon Bridges and Ray LaMontagne.
UK Tour Dates: August and September 2025
Following the album’s launch, Selby will embark on a UK tour, bringing his authentic sound to venues across the country. Dates are scheduled for August and September, with ticket details to be released soon. His impressive tour history includes supporting The Who at Wembley Stadium, performing at Hyde Park with Pearl Jam, and sharing stages with Beth Hart at the London Palladium, alongside acts like Robert Cray and Joanne Shaw Taylor. This tour promises to reflect his growth as an artist.
