What does the Beyond Extinction Skin Of The Beast video show?

Beyond Extinction – “Skin Of The Beast” (official music video), via the band’s YouTube channel.

The video for “Skin Of The Beast” focuses on the violence of ancient tribes cloaked in animal furs, marked in blood and emerging from the swamps with horror as yet unseen. It was captured during the band’s appearance at Bay Days Festival 2026 in Essex, so you get the live energy of the track alongside the imagery, all set against that down-tuned, down-tempo sound. The spirit of those beast-like people lives on through the ferocity of the song.

What is the Beyond Extinction Three Swords EP about?

Three Swords is a concept EP that both celebrates and condemns the band’s hometown of Essex and its involvement in some of the UK’s most harrowing examples of human depravity. Rather than looking outwards, Beyond Extinction have dragged their songs from the most repulsive stories ever to have happened on Essex soil, harnessing what they call the horror in the Essex mud.

Lead single “Witchfinder” casts a spotlight on the lesser known but more ghastly numbers of those who perished in the worldwide witch trials, shifting the focus away from the much more publicised Salem story. “A Dark Sickness (Three Swords)” revives the horror of rotting from the inside out as the Black Death pillaged its way through the county, while “The Estuary” gives exposure to the serene yet deadly bodies of water throughout Essex that have been responsible for multiple disappearances and violent deaths across the centuries.

What songs are on Three Swords?

The EP runs to four tracks, and each one tackles a different corner of Essex history:

  1. “Witchfinder”
  2. “Skin Of The Beast”
  3. “The Estuary”
  4. “A Dark Sickness (Three Swords)”

“Witchfinder” and “A Dark Sickness (Three Swords)” were shared ahead of release, and “Skin Of The Beast” now arrives with its own video as the focus track. Together they make up the first new music from the band since their debut album, and the sound stays true to what the band do best: low, slow and crushingly heavy.

What has Beyond Extinction said about Three Swords?

Vocalist Jasper Harmer says the band are “ecstatic to have THREE SWORDS out in the world and to have stamped an Essex mark onto our discography that pays homage to the place that pushed our band to grow.” He adds that the rich roots, the depth of the people and the terrifying history of their home county helped them harness the rage and dread of their music, and that they are very proud of the “sharpened riff-work” the record contains.

The EP is also, as always, in memory of Zach Scott, and Harmer describes it as a pointing direction to the foggy history of the county of Three Swords.

Who are Beyond Extinction?

Beyond Extinction are one of the most exciting bands in UK deathcore right now, and they are helping to feed a flourishing heavy music scene. The line-up is Jasper Harmer on vocals, Jude Bennett and Danny Russel on guitars, and Ali on drums.

Three Swords follows their debut album Where They Gather, released in September 2025, which was crowned number 46 in Metal Hammer’s Top 50 Albums of 2025. Building a visually compelling backdrop to the music has always been part of their songwriting, with lyrics and ambient soundscapes embossed with personal horrors and realisations. In 2025 they also hit the road for a run of select headline dates, including co-headline shows with To Obey A Tyrant, Gutrectomy and Kanine, and an opening slot at London’s Underworld with To The Grave.

Where can I buy the Three Swords EP?

Three Swords is out now, and you can stream the band on Spotify. For something to hold, the jewel case CD includes a six-page pullout and costs £15 from the band’s official store, which also carries the CD and vinyl of Where They Gather and the rest of the band’s merch.
