This marks Nickelback’s first new music since 2022’s Get Rollin’. The album arrives on the back of the critically acclaimed documentary Hate to Love: Nickelback and the record-breaking Get Rollin’ World Tour — the fastest-selling and highest-attended tour of their career.

About the New Single & Album

“Rattle The Cage” is a heavy, loud and blisteringly fast track that captures the electricity of a Nickelback live show. Featuring guitarist John 5, the song is packed with pounding riffs, soaring hooks and relentless energy.

Frontman Chad Kroeger said:

“This album has every side of the band on it. There are songs that hit as hard as anything we’ve ever done, songs that take chances, and songs that remind us why we’ve been doing this together for so long. Rattle The Cage felt like the perfect way to kick the door open — it has the energy we’ve been feeding off every night on stage, and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Everything Under The Sun promises the full spectrum of what has made Nickelback one of the biggest rock bands in the world — arena-ready anthems, reflective songwriting, massive guitars and the unmistakable chemistry that has defined the band for more than three decades.

A New Chapter with Virgin Music Group

The album is Nickelback’s first release with Virgin Music Group. Jacqueline Saturn, President of Virgin Music Group North America, commented:

“Nickelback have built one of the most remarkable careers in music, and it’s a huge honour for everyone at Virgin Music Group to work alongside a band with such an enduring legacy and global impact.”

With nearly 60 million albums sold worldwide, billions of streams and more than 50 million monthly listeners, Nickelback remain one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 21st century. Their induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2024 further cemented their status as one of Canada’s most successful musical exports.

Rock News final word: After four years without a new studio album, Nickelback are back with Everything Under The Sun and a heavy, high-energy lead single featuring John 5. “Rattle The Cage” is pure arena rock and sets a strong tone for what’s to come. With the documentary and record-breaking tour still fresh in the memory, this new chapter feels perfectly timed. Pre-order the album and stream the single now.
