A tragic incident cast a shadow over Oasis’s triumphant return to Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, as a man in his 40s died after falling from the upper tier during the band’s sold-out reunion show. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that emergency services were called to the scene at 22:19 BST, shortly after the band’s set concluded, responding to reports of a serious injury within the stadium’s seating area.

Fan Falls from Upper Tier During Oasis Concert
The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was reportedly seated in the upper tier of the 90,000-capacity venue when he fell. Witnesses described the moment as “horrendous,” with one attendee recounting screams and paramedics rushing to the scene. “At first I thought it was a coat falling,” said a fan seated below in section 211. “Then I saw the man on the concrete. It was horrific to see”.

Despite the immediate response from Wembley Stadium medics, the London Ambulance Service, and police officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that his injuries were “consistent with a fall” and have appealed to the public for any video footage or eyewitness accounts that might help clarify the circumstances.
Oasis Responds to Tragedy
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Oasis expressed their sorrow: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved”.
The concert was part of the band’s highly anticipated Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour, marking the first time Noel and Liam Gallagher have performed together since their infamous split in 2009. Saturday’s show was the fourth of seven sold-out dates at Wembley, drawing over 80,000 fans eager to witness the historic reunion.

Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the investigation will be handed over to the Health & Safety Executive in the coming days. Given the packed nature of the venue and the height of the upper tiers—reportedly around 170 feet above ground—officials believe multiple attendees may have witnessed the fall or inadvertently captured it on mobile devices.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police via 101, quoting reference 7985/02AUG.
Sunday’s Concert to Proceed

Despite the tragedy, Wembley Stadium has announced that Sunday’s Oasis concert will go ahead as planned. “Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers,” said a spokesperson. “The police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them”.
As fans return for another night of music and nostalgia, the mood will undoubtedly be more somber. The death serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of live events and the importance of safety in large-scale venues.
