New Music: Tyketto Release ‘Higher Than High’ Video
Tyketto Soars with “Higher Than High” Video, Announces Closer To The Sun
Hard rock stalwarts Tyketto have officially returned to the forefront of the melodic rock scene with the release of their brand-new music video for the single “Higher Than High”. The track serves as the lead single for their long-awaited sixth studio album, Closer To The Sun, which is set for release on March 20, 2026, via Silver Lining Music. This announcement marks a significant milestone for the band, ending a ten-year wait for a full-length studio follow-up to 2016’s Reach.
A Triumphant Return: Tyketto Higher Than High
The release of the Tyketto Higher Than High video is more than just a teaser; it is a statement of intent. Filmed at the iconic KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, UK, the video captures the band’s undeniable live energy and stage presence. Directed and edited by Scott Wardell, with cinematography by Paul Hollingsworth, the visual accompaniment perfectly matches the song’s “swing and swagger,” showcasing a band that is not merely surviving but thriving in the modern rock landscape.
Frontman Danny Vaughn describes the track as “classic Tyketto,” noting that it tackles life’s difficulties by finding hope and healing through music. The chorus features the poignant lines, “In the space you can learn to heal / There is music that helps you feel / Higher than high,” which Vaughn explains is a central theme for the record. He adds that both the song and the album carry a simple yet powerful instruction: “play me loudly and take me for a drive”.

A Powerhouse Lineup – Tyketto Higher Than High

The chemistry heard on Tyketto Higher Than High is the result of a formidable lineup that blends original members with seasoned rock veterans. The band currently features:
• Danny Vaughn (Vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica)
• Harry Scott Elliott (Lead guitar)
• Ged Rylands (Keyboards)
• Chris Childs (Bass – also of Thunder)
• Johnny Dee (Drums – also of Doro)
Since their return to active touring in 2023, the band has been on a “steady upward trajectory,” with Vaughn noting that more fans are coming out to support them than ever before. This resurgence culminated in their new deal with Silver Lining Music, a label that Vaughn praises for understanding the band’s unique relationship with their fanbase.

Tyketto Higher Than High: Hitting the Road in 2026
Tyketto will not be keeping these new songs confined to the studio. The band has already confirmed a string of live dates to support the album. They will kick off 2026 by headlining Planet Rock’s Winter’s End Festival in Porthcawl, Wales, on February 1, 2026. This appearance will be part of a weekend lineup that includes artists like Sophie Lloyd and GUN.
Following the festival kickoff, a full UK tour is scheduled for the spring, along with confirmed appearances at other major events such as the Steelhouse Festival in late July 2026. This extensive touring schedule ensures that fans across the UK and Europe will have ample opportunity to experience Tyketto Higher Than High and other new tracks in a live setting.

Tyketto Higher Than High: Legacy and Longevity
Originally forming in New York in 1987, Tyketto burst onto the scene with their debut Don’t Come Easy in 1991. Despite facing the shifting musical tides of the early 90s, the band has maintained a loyal “family” of fans. Vaughn admits that the pandemic nearly halted the band’s progress, stating it was “touch and go” whether they would continue. However, the overwhelming support since their 2023 return proved that the hunger for quality melodic rock is as strong as ever.
With Closer To The Sun, Tyketto is poised to deliver what Vaughn describes as an album that “fans are going to absolutely fall in love with”. If the lead single Tyketto Higher Than High is any indication, the band has indeed captured lightning in a bottle once again.
