The Georgia Thunderbolts Overlord Single Out Now
Rome, Georgia’s The Georgia Thunderbolts dim the stage lights on their whirlwind journey with “Overlord,” released January 8, 2026 – a marauding 3:30 blast of molten grungy riffs, volcanic drums, lightning solos, and TJ Lyle’s most impassioned vocals yet. Saturated in rootsy Southern rock fury with sludgy desert edges, it’s a fitting swansong single urging humanity: “Seek humanity, not greed. Seek love, not war. Always seek love.” TJ Lyle: “Throughout history… people in power… often it’s done in the wrong way… We were put on this earth to love and support each other… Let’s get back to love, respect, and care.”
The emotional video captures the band’s heartfelt farewell vibe – watch now.

The Journey: From Rome GA Clubs to Global Stages
Formed by school friends, the quintet – TJ Lyle (vocals/harmonica/keyboards), Riley Couzzourt (guitar), Logan Tolbert (guitar), Zach Everett (bass/guitar/harmony vocals/keys), Bristol Perry (drums) – exploded with 2020 self-titled EP, hailed by Rolling Stone (“Southern rock thrives”) and Classic Rock (“new heroes”).
Three albums followed: Can We Get A Witness (2021), Rise Above It All (2024) – timeless blends of Americana, high-octane rock. Toured US/Europe thrice, sharing stages with Black Stone Cherry, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Blackberry Smoke, more.
But 2025 realities – financial strains, long hauls, time from home/jobs – plus Lyle’s mild stroke pre-UK tour (fully recovered) – led to hiatus prioritizing health/family.
Riley Couzzourt: “If it all ended tomorrow… we can’t complain… Blessed beyond measure… Honored… especially Richard Young (manager/mentor).”
Bristol Perry: “What a ride… Fans (Strykers) the best!!… Hard decision… Thank you to bands/crews, Richard, Mascot… Exceeded expectations.”
Band statement: “Though futures uncertain… Mascot’s belief upheld with Overlord… Undying love… Thanks for memories.”
