Ozzy Osbourne’s DNA Sold in Liquid Death Cans – Rock’s Wildest Promo Yet

In a move that makes bat-biting look tame, Liquid Death has teamed up with the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, to unleash a promotion so gloriously absurd it makes your average rock ‘n’ roll stunt look like a polite tea party. Introducing Infinitely Recyclable Ozzy—a limited-edition run of just 10 iced tea cans, each containing trace amounts of Ozzy’s actual DNA. Yes, you read that right. The man who once snorted ants and survived decades of debauchery is now available in beverage form. Sort of.

Each can was personally chugged and crushed by Ozzy, leaving behind his saliva—and with it, the genetic blueprint of heavy metal’s most indestructible icon. These relics of rock were then sealed in lab-grade display containers and hand-signed by the man himself. The price? A modest $450. The result? Sold out in seconds.

But this Ozzy collab? This is next-level. Liquid Death claims the goal is to preserve Osbourne’s DNA for future cloning—“once technology and federal law permit,” of course. A teaser video even shows Ozzy deadpanning, “My DNA is in this can. You could clone me—but why the f*** would you want to?”

For the uninitiated, Liquid Death is hydration with a headbang. Their mantra? Murder your thirst. Their method? Canned water and tea that look like beer from hell’s vending machine. This brand has a habit of turning heads—think Tony Hawk skateboards infused with his blood, electrolyte powders called Death Dust, and now, Ozzy’s actual DNA steeped into a collector’s can.

As word of the drop spread faster than a backstage rumor, fans began speculating where the precious few cans might resurface. eBay, of course—the digital marketplace where metal dreams and buyer’s remorse collide. Whispers of listings hitting the $1 million mark swirled online, and we couldn’t help but bite…

…until we remembered: we made that up. That’s right—RockNews had a little fun with your thirst. There are no Ozzy tea cans on eBay for a million bucks (yet). But give it a week. You know someone out there is eyeing an early retirement plan.

Consider this your friendly PSA: stay hydrated, stay skeptical, and don’t sell your car for Ozzy spit.

This madness, believe it or not, is all building toward Back to the Beginning—Ozzy’s final full performance with Black Sabbath, happening July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham. It’s a historic farewell, a homegrown homecoming, and possibly the last time we’ll see the full original lineup—Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—ignite a stage together. The support roster reads like a metal festival fever dream: Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, and more.

So raise a can (or three) to the bat-munching, gene-sharing, stage-destroying icon. There’ll never be another Ozzy… unless someone clones him. And with Liquid Death involved, that no longer sounds entirely impossible.
