Rachel Bolan Announces Solo Debut Album as BOLAN – ‘Gargoyle of the Garden State’ Out 12 June 2026
After four decades as the bassist and primary songwriter for Skid Row, Rachel Bolan is stepping out with his first-ever solo project under the name BOLAN.
The debut album, titled “Gargoyle of the Garden State”, will be released on 12 June 2026. Produced by multi-Grammy winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Evanescence, Alice In Chains), the record is a deeply personal, hook-driven collection rooted in Bolan’s New Jersey upbringing, blending punk energy, melodic rock, swagger, and raw attitude.

Bolan said: “Gargoyle of the Garden State is not a project, it is every bit of my soul. Like me, it knows when to be serious and also knows where the party is.”
A Lifetime of Music distilled into One Record
Bolan performs the majority of instruments himself while drawing on influences from Brit Pop, Glam, Punk Rock and New Wave. The album also features an all-star cast of guests including:

The album includes a bold reimagining of Oasis’ “Rock And Roll Star” featuring Scotti Hill.
