The Molotovs Add Second London Date to ‘Welcome To Urbia’ Tour After Top 3 Album & Huge Demand

Teenage siblings The Molotovs – Matt (17) and Issey Cartlidge (19) – have announced a second London headline date at the iconic O2 Forum Kentish Town following unprecedented ticket demand for their September 2026 ‘Welcome To Urbia’ tour.

The extra show on Saturday 26 September 2026 joins the original sold-out date on Friday 25 September 2026. This comes hot on the heels of their debut album Wasted On Youth crashing into the Official UK Album Charts at No.3 (Marshall Records), sparking a playful chart battle with Lily Allen and massive fan rush – with over 10,000 tickets snapped up six months before the tour even starts.

Promoters have started waiting lists for several shows, and venues in Leeds, Belfast and Dublin have been upgraded to larger capacities.

Back to Where It All Began

The London dates hold special meaning for the band. Their very first gig as The Molotovs was a 20-minute opening set supporting The Libertines at the same venue (then O2 Kentish Town Forum) after being spotted busking in the rain in Margate.

Issey Cartlidge said: “These shows take us back to where it all started after being plucked out of the rain by The Libertines. Our first gig as The Molotovs was at the Kentish Town Forum supporting them… We met them down in Margate at their hotel, the Albion Rooms. We were getting ready to busk on the beach and it was absolutely pissing it down. Carl Barât saw us and invited us into the studio to just come in and play… and now we’re doing two headline shows after the first sold out!”

TV Spotlight & Chart Success

On Saturday 21 March 2026, The Molotovs will perform their anthem ‘Today’s Gonna Be Our Day’ (which topped the physical singles chart last June) on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, alongside guests including Rachel Zegler, Ben Platt, Ruth Jones, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kathryn Newton and Alison Hammond.

Wasted On Youth – produced by Jason Perry at Marshall Studio and mixed/mastered by Blair Crichton (Dead Pony) – features drummer Noah Riley alongside the siblings. The album blends new wave, punk, indie and garage rock, tackling themes like social media toxicity, coming-of-age pressures, small-town mentalities and defiant individualism.

Highlights include singles ‘More More More More’, ‘Rhythm Of Yourself’, ‘Get A Life’ and the defiant closer ‘Today’s Gonna Be Our Day’.

Matt joked on Instagram about being “in a chart war with some new, unsigned band called Lily Allen”, to which Lily replied: “It’s all love baby, @TheMolotovs, hope you win the war.”
