Beaumont, Texas-based garage rock duo The Dodies—Yoni Avittan (vocals/guitar) and Ran Aronson (drums/synth bass)—deliver a game-changing third album, Dreamism, out now as of May 26, 2025, via their independent label. Originally slated for February 28, 2025, this 14-track opus, produced by Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Sons of Apollo, ex-Guns N’ Roses), bursts with live-recorded rawness, blending garage rock, grunge, and psychedelic tones. Exploring the tension between dreams and reality, Dreamism captivates with escapism and self-discovery—stream it today and join the hype!

Dreamism Standouts

Spanning 14 tracks, Dreamism offers a 40-minute journey that has to be my album of the year—no exaggeration! I’ve had it on repeat for months, and it tops my Spotify most-listened list. Standouts include:

  • Hero – The opener surprises with a waltz rhythm, a bold departure for a rock band, setting a unique tone with its graceful yet gritty flow.

  • The Messiah – A deep dive into a man with a messianic complex who realizes he’s mad, delivered with hypnotic vocals and a driving beat that lingers.
  • Falsetto – The standout track for me where Yoni’s soaring falsetto dances over glam-tinged riffs, recorded live with Thal’s expert touch—pure magic.

  • Junkie – Feels like an ‘80s indie hit, hitting the mark perfectly with its catchy, nostalgic vibe.

  • Fist at Sea – Perfection shines through, with Yoni’s falsetto soaring again over a powerful, unforgettable melody.

Recorded live with no click track, Dreamism reflects the duo’s Beaumont roots and their struggle with an “excessive reliance on dreams… a distraction from the moment,” This isn’t your average album—it’s a journey with songs that stay with you forever.

The Dodies’ Rise

Since forming in 2018, The Dodies evolve from Israeli origins to a Texas base, following It’s One Hell of a Ride (2020) and Floating in Limbo (2022) with Thal. Their 2024 Spotify surge—over 29,000 monthly listeners and a 267% follower increase—signals a breakout, boosted by “Falsetto” and “The Messiah” on Spotify playlists.
