Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Glenn Hughes has officially broken his solo silence. After nearly a decade away from the studio spotlight, the Cannock-born icon has released “Voice In My Head”, the lead single from his upcoming album CHOSEN, due out September 5th, 2025 via Frontiers Music Srl. The track marks a powerful re-entry for Hughes, whose signature blend of hard rock, soul, and introspection remains as potent as ever.

A Song Born of Subconscious Reflection

“‘Voice In My Head’ tells the story of what’s goin’ on in my subconscious mind,” Hughes explains. “It’s a song that most definitely needed to be written. Very therapeutic. We all have ‘this voice.’ Observe, recognize and be a witness, & let go…”

The lyric video, now live on YouTube, pairs Hughes’ soaring vocals with evocative visuals, offering fans a glimpse into the emotional terrain of CHOSEN. It’s a track that doesn’t just rock — it resonates.

CHOSEN: A Return to Soulful Power

Produced by longtime collaborator Søren AndersenCHOSEN is Hughes’ first solo album since 2016’s Resonate. The ten-track record explores themes of love, hope, faith, and acceptance — what Hughes calls “soul food” for the modern age. Written from a place of deep personal reflection, the album channels both the explosive energy of his Deep Purple days and the introspective depth of his solo catalog.
