Brave Rival Unleash Explosive ‘Control’ Video, Announce New Album ‘5 to 4’

UK rock powerhouse Brave Rival have dropped the ferocious video for their latest single, “Control.” The track is the second blistering taste from their upcoming 8-track album, ‘5 to 4’, set for release on Friday, 17th October 2025.

Released last Friday, 5th September, “Control” showcases a heavier, more aggressive side to the band, cementing them as one of the UK’s most exciting rock acts. The release of the Brave Rival Control video gives fans a stunning visual insight into the raw energy that defines the band’s new four-piece era. The track follows the album’s lead single, the blues-infused “Poison,” which was released last month.

The Brave Rival Control video perfectly captures the song’s defiant and explosive energy. Filmed in a dark, industrial setting, the visuals focus on an intense, no-holds-barred performance from the band. The aesthetic is raw and claustrophobic, mirroring the lyrical themes of breaking free from constraints.

A New Era: From ‘5 to 4’

The upcoming album’s title, ‘5 to 4’, is a direct nod to the band’s evolution into a focused and formidable four-piece. The new lineup, featuring Lindsey Bonnick on vocals, Ed ‘the Shred’ Clarke on guitar, Billy ‘Danger’ Dedman on bass, and Donna Peters on drums, has clearly galvanised their sound.

The Sound So Far of ‘5 to 4’: “Poison” and “Control”

The two singles released so far demonstrate the dynamic range of the upcoming album. Where August’s “Poison” was a slow-burning, blues-drenched track about toxic attraction, “Control” is an all-out hard rock assault.

For those new to the band or wanting to dive deeper before the new album drops, their debut album Life’s Machine provides the perfect starting point. Here are five must-hear tracks:

  • “Guilty Love”: A fan-favourite single that perfectly blends bluesy swagger with a huge, catchy chorus.
  • “What’s Your Name Again?”: An anthemic, high-energy rocker that showcases the band’s powerful vocal harmonies.
  • “Heart Attack”: A dynamic and emotionally charged track that builds from a soulful verse to an explosive rock-out.
  • “Long Time Coming”: A classic, foot-stomping blues-rock track with an undeniable groove.
  • “Run and Hide”: A soulful and powerful ballad that highlights the band’s impressive range.

The new singles “Poison” and “Control” are already climbing the ranks, showcasing the band’s exciting evolution.
