Hillbilly Vegas Chats with Polly About UK Tour and More

Rock News UK’s Polly recently sat down with Hillbilly Vegas’ Steve Harris to discuss their UK tour kickoff, new music, and favorite performance spots. The band, fresh from rehearsals, shared insights on their journey. Watch the full interview here!

Tour Kickoff and Festival Vibes

The interview marked the first day of Hillbilly Vegas’ UK tour, starting with Made of Stone. Steve noted the heat felt like home in Oklahoma, appreciating the sun after mixed weather. They’re excited for upcoming shows at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, headline gigs in Sheffield and Greystones, and festivals like Steelhouse and Rock ‘N’ Blues, despite a shorter 14-day stay compared to their last month-long visit.

New Music and Creative Process

The band previewed five new songs from their upcoming March 2026 album, with their latest single already playlisted by Planet Rock. Steve explained their process: band members send demo tracks, he builds a “movie-like” vision from them, and the group collaborates to shape the songs. Their previous single, “Let It Ride,” hit number 10 on the Billboard chart, building momentum for the new release.

Favorite UK Spots and Fan Love

Steve highlighted historic venues like the Troubadour and 100 Club in London, plus the Cathouse in Glasgow, but emphasized the UK crowd as his favorite part. He shared a funny story about seeing a “big rock” instead of a castle on a budget, reflecting their sightseeing efforts. The band loves how UK fans “spoil” them, making every show special.

Life Advice from a Legend

Polly’s signature question led to Steve recalling advice from late Warrant singer Jani Lane: “Do what makes you happy,” given during a frustrating Nashville record deal. This inspired Hillbilly Vegas to forge their own path, leading to six Billboard Top 20 hits. It’s a heartfelt moment worth hearing
