When Rivers Meet Release Defiant New Single “The Script” – From Album Rhythm Rust & Static Out May 29 2026

Blues-infused alt-rock duo When Rivers Meet have released the official video for their new single “The Script” – a rallying cry against fear and the idea that your story is already written.

The track is the second single from their upcoming album Rhythm Rust & Static, set for release on May 29 2026.

Grace Bond says: “This one feels very personal to me. It’s about that voice that creeps in telling you how things are going to go and choosing not to believe it. I love the idea that nothing is set in stone. The script isn’t written yet and that means I still get to decide.”

Aaron Bond adds: “There’s a real sense of defiance in this song. Not aggression — just standing your ground when things feel uncertain. The line ‘don’t give in to fear’ really says it all. It’s about holding steady and writing your own ending.”

A Bold New Chapter

“‘The Script’ builds perfectly on the momentum of the first single ‘The Tide Is Turning’,” the band explain. The new album sees them returning to a rawer, more intimate sound after the bigger production of 2025’s Top 4 UK album Addicted To You.

Grace continues: “With our previous album, Addicted To You, we leaned into a much bigger, more produced sound. When we started thinking about the next album, though, we felt drawn to something a little more raw and intimate.”

The fiercely independent husband-and-wife duo have achieved two Official UK Top 10 albums without a label or management. They turned down major record deals to stay on their own path and will head out on this summer’s UK tour with their first child, born in March 2026.

Aaron says: “A big part of our story is the independent side of what we’ve built. We’ve never followed the music industry rulebook. We’re proud to go our own way.”
