Slade’s Timeless Saga: Skinheads to Swan Song – The Hill Legacy

From 1966 Wolverhampton skinheads (as N’ Betweens) to glam overlords under Chas Chandler (ex-Animals/Hendrix guru), Slade notched 6 UK No.1s (1971-74), 23 Top 20s, and global echoes – inspiring Kiss, Oasis, and Quiet Riot’s U.S. “Noize” cover. ’80s revival (“We’ll Bring the House Down,” Top 10 ’81); ’90s “Radio Wall of Sound” sealed a 30-year chart streak.

Hill rebooted in 1991 amid worldwide clamor, logging 600+ shows across 20+ countries and festival staples (Germany/Poland). 2023 celebrated 50 years of ’73 No.1s; 2024’s pause tested resolve. This tour? A defiant coda at 77, post-surgery.
