Finnish Rock Icons The Rasmus Drop 11th Studio Album with Global Weirdo Tour Kicking Off This Fall

The Rasmus, the 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified Finnish rock legends, have released their highly anticipated 11th studio album, Weirdo, today, September 12, 2025, via Better Noise Music and Playground Music. Marking their first release with the label, the album blends dark atmospheres with catchy pop hooks and stadium-sized guitar riffs, continuing their 30-year legacy of celebrating the outcast. The title track features a collaboration with The Funeral Portrait’s Lee Jennings, and its music video is live on the band’s YouTube. Stream or download the full album HERE, with tickets and limited-edition merchandise bundles available now.

Weirdo: A Celebration of the Outsider

Frontman Lauri Ylönen reflects, “Weirdo carries the same message as our 1996 debut—to defend those different from the masses and embrace being ourselves.” He adds, “I’ve been called a weirdo, misfit, freak—once anger, now my strength. We Weirdos unite, inspiring change.” The album’s concept began with the title track, co-written with Desmond Child and Marti Frederiksen in Greece, shaped during band demos in Finland (July 2023) and recorded at Sienna Studios in Nashville. Mixed by Fredriksen, Chris Baseford, Claudius Mittendorfer, and Joseph McQueen, tracks like “Rest in Pieces” (over 668k views) and “Break These Chains” (812k views) showcase their evolution. Jennings calls it “an anthem for outcasts,” teasing their joint Europe tour in November.
