London’s Leicester Square erupted in rock-and-roll energy on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, as YUNGBLUD unveiled his hotly anticipated feature-length documentary, ARE YOU READY, BOY?. The premiere — hosted by Rock Sound at the Vue West End — drew family, friends, collaborators, and a glittering guest list ahead of the film’s worldwide release in cinemas on August 20 & 24.

Star-Studded Premiere
The evening was a celebration of YUNGBLUD’s journey, with special guests including Joan Armatrading, Anne with an E star Amybeth McNulty, rising talent Nieve Ella, The Molotovs, and Louis Starkey. Director Paul Dugdale — the Emmy® and BAFTA-winning filmmaker behind legendary concert films for Adele, Elton John, and The Prodigy — walked the red carpet alongside the star.
A Rock Rebel’s Vision
Speaking at the premiere, YUNGBLUD shared his raw, unfiltered passion for the project:
“This has been such a crazy journey. My bucket list director was Paul [Dugdale] because I knew he’d tell the story with truth and authenticity… In a world where everything is so ‘TikTokable’ and ‘Instagrammable,’ this is a film about imagination, allowing humanity and insecurity to shine. We need more of that in the world if we’re all a bit more real.”
He went on to describe the film as both a love letter to creativity and a defiant statement of independence:
“We’ve never had a hand up — it’s more of a kick in the face every time… so being here in Leicester Square is pretty cool.”

Shot inside Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios — birthplace of David Bowie’s Heroes and U2’s Achtung Baby! — the documentary captures the making of YUNGBLUD’s ambitious fourth studio album Idols.
