“Forget The Haters”: Massive Wagons Turn Anti-Bullying Into a Rock Revolution

In an era where shouty slogans and guitar solos aren’t just entertainment but empowerment, Massive Wagons are leading a charge that’s louder than any amp stack. Their ongoing “Forget The Haters” campaign isn’t just a tagline—it’s a manifesto channeled through riffs, road trips, and raw conversations in UK classrooms. Three years in, the band is proving that rock isn’t just rebellion—it’s resilience.

From Song to Social Action

It started with rage. Not the destructive kind, but the catalytic fire found in their 2022 single “Fuck The Haters”—a gut-punch anthem from their album Triggered! Frontman Baz Mills, no stranger to bullying himself, poured truth into the lyrics. And instead of letting it fade after the encore, the band turned the sentiment into a movement.

They teamed up early with The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, lending proceeds from merch to fund school workshops built around tolerance, identity, and respect. But Baz and bassist Adam Thistlethwaite wanted more than just a passive donation. They wanted to show up. In person.

On the Ground, In the Schools

Fast-forward three years and the campaign is now touring more than just venues—it’s rolling into primary schools across Lancashire, bringing band members face-to-face with students for real talk and big hugs.

This year, three new schools joined the fold, including Trumacar Primary School in Heysham, where Baz and Adam lit up classrooms with messages about recognising bullying, supporting peers, and finding strength in community. It’s grassroots, gritty, and gloriously effective.

The pair don’t just talk at the children—they talk with them, discussing ways to respond to bullying, how to build self-confidence, and when to speak out. These aren’t seminars—they’re soul-sessions. And yes, there’s always a bit of rock ‘n’ roll thrown in for good measure.

Powered by Metal For Good

In a huge boost earlier this year, Massive Wagons were made Brand Ambassadors for Metal For Good, a charity that channels the values of the rock and metal community—togetherness, individuality, belonging—into causes that change lives.

With funding support from the organization, Baz and Adam have widened their reach, increasing school visits and expanding resources. While there’s no official “Forget The Haters” merch just yet, fans have been vocal in their support—and the demand is clearly there. A signature tee, patch, or hoodie could turn solidarity into visibility and funnel even more support into workshops and outreach. If ever there was a cause worth wearing on your sleeve—literally—it’s this one. Here’s hoping the band makes it happen.

In the meantime, Metal For Good’s merch supports a range of grassroots causes across the rock community. Every t-shirt sold doesn’t just warm a fan—it warms a cause.

Lancaster Music Festival & BBC Spotlight

The band’s efforts aren’t happening in isolation. They’ve received massive local support from the Lancaster Music Festival, which backs the campaign and brings its message to larger audiences. Their live appearances there often double as rally points for community engagement, merging music and mission in one loud, proud package.

And now, the campaign’s going national. This past week, the band were joined by BBC’s Kay Crewdson, who’s featuring the initiative in her 25 in 25 campaign—an effort to spotlight 25 impactful causes in 2025. Though the feature date hasn’t dropped yet, the band promise fans will be the first to know when it does.

Why It Works

Forget The Haters works because it’s authentic. Baz and Adam aren’t sanitized spokespeople—they’re rockers with a mission, telling messy, honest stories and letting their music say what glossy PSAs never could.

The classroom visits aren’t performances. They’re dialogues. They’re uncomfortable. They’re healing. They represent a fusion of art and action that could only come from musicians who refuse to stop at the mic.

Want to help? Visit Metal For Good to support the cause, grab some gear, or just share their message. Because whether you’re a headbanger, a parent, a student, or a teacher—this is your anthem, too.

And Massive Wagons? They’re just getting started.
