British rock icons Skunk Anansie have released the powerful video for their new single “Shame,” available here, taken from their UK Top 10 album The Painful Truth. The track, a deeply personal piece for lead singer Skin, reflects her family background and the struggle of disconnection, with the video serving as a cathartic expression of confronting past demons.

“Skunk Anansie’s ‘Shame’ video marks a bold chapter in their 2025 resurgence!”

The band is currently touring Europe, amplifying the single’s impact.

A Personal and Provocative Release

Skin shared, “‘Shame’ is one of the most personal songs we’ve ever written,” addressing the hurt of familial misunderstanding and dedicating it to outcasts who find new, supportive communities. The song ties into The Painful Truth’s themes of identity and resilience, an album met with rapturous reviews since its release. The video, released alongside the tour, underscores this narrative with striking visuals, building on the album’s mesmerising and emotional tone.
