Download Line Up 2027
Download Line Up 2027 – Early Predictions & Who We Think Will Headline
With Download Festival 2026 now in the rear-view mirror (headlined by Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park), attention is already turning to the Download Line Up 2027.
It’s still very early, but patterns from recent years, current touring cycles, and strong rumours give us a good idea of who could be in the running for next year’s headliners.
Most Likely Headliners for Download 2027
Here are the bands that currently look like the strongest contenders:
1. Foo Fighters They’ve been heavily rumoured for a while and have teased a big UK run. Dave Grohl has history with Donington, and they’ve never headlined Download in this current era. A safe but very popular choice.
2. Deftones Currently one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. Their recent album cycle has been massive, and they feel like the natural “next big thing” to step up to a Download headline slot.
3. Blink-182 Pop-punk is having a moment again, and Blink have been doing huge festival runs. They’re frequently mentioned in fan discussions and would bring a massive, singalong crowd.
Other Strong Possibilities
These bands are also being talked about heavily:
- Bring Me The Horizon – A homegrown success story who feel due a headline slot.
- Slipknot – Regulars at Download but haven’t headlined in a while.
- System of a Down – A dream booking for many fans, though less likely.
- My Chemical Romance – Huge demand and would be a major coup.
- Nine Inch Nails – Industrial legends who would bring something different.
What About the Undercard?
Lower down the bill we could see strong returns from bands like:
- Spiritbox
- Sleep Token (if not 2026)
- Architects
- Electric Callboy
- Lorna Shore
- Ice Nine Kills
Plus the usual mix of rising UK talent and cult favourites.

Rock News final word: It’s still very early days, but the Download Line Up 2027 is already generating plenty of discussion. Foo Fighters, Deftones and Blink-182 currently look like the most realistic headliner shouts, but Download always loves to throw in a surprise or two.
