Dirty Honey Catch My Butterfly
Dirty Honey Catch My Butterfly Album Announced – Lights Out and Butterfly Out Now
Rock trio Dirty Honey have announced their third album, Dirty Honey Catch My Butterfly, due 15 January.
It lands with two singles already out — “Lights Out” and “Butterfly” — and is produced by John Feldmann (Yungblud, blink-182, Korn). Marc LaBelle (vocals), John Notto (guitar) and Justin Smolian (bass) frame it as a wider record than the first two, without dropping the grit that got them here.

LaBelle said:
“I’m very proud of our perseverance. Any band has to really survive to make a third record. We’ve made mistakes in the studio, gotten over past regrets, lived more, and become better songwriters. All of those things snowballed into Catch My Butterfly.”
Smolian added: “We’re no one-trick pony.”
The singles
“Lights Out” opens the album hard — open chords, delay, a turning riff and the line “I’m standing out on the edge. You better get ready ‘cause they’re gonna turn the lights out.” Notto called it the first banger and said the solo on the demo is the one that stuck.
“Butterfly” goes the other way: acoustic guitar, strings, LaBelle asking “Where’d you go butterfly?” The softness is cover. He wrote it around addiction in his family — a father or relative watching someone beautiful and broken, never sure if they are alive or dead.
The band so far
Dirty Honey arrived in 2019 with “When I’m Gone”, the first song by an unsigned artist to hit No. 1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock. Self-titled debut in 2021, Can’t Find the Brakes in 2023 (No. 2 Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums). Tours with Guns N’ Roses and The Black Crowes, plus their own sold-out headline runs.

Rock News final word: Dirty Honey Catch My Butterfly is the third-album test — more colours, same engine. “Lights Out” is the room-starter; “Butterfly” is the one that will follow people home. January is a wait, but the opening pair already shows they are not repeating Can’t Find the Brakes by numbers.
