Last night, The Darkness took over Rough Trade for a one-of-a-kind record store performance, proving that rock ‘n’ roll isn’t about the size of the venue but the spirit of the show. With 150 fans crammed into the tiny upstairs room, this wasn’t just a gig—it was a hilarious, high-octane masterclass in entertainment.

The Darkness premiered their electrifying new single, ‘I Hate Myself’, last night with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2. The track, a punk rock glam anthem, is the second single from their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Dreams On Toast, set for release on March 28th via Cooking Vinyl. The queue was all the way down the street and round the corner to get in to this sold out show at the famous Chalk Farm venue, and boy was it worth it!
Essex rockers Bad Nerves got us off to a great start, and these were followed by the evening’s “special guest”. We were as curious as the rest of the audience as to who it might be and everyone was surprised when out walked none other than Ed Sheeran!

What a day! We, along with 65,000 fans, gathered in Hyde Park for a day of pure rock n roll, as part of the BST season in London. With the Great Oak Stage welcoming Larkin Poe, The Darkness, The Pretenders and of course Guns ’N’ Roses, and two other stages hosting another eight acts, including Dirty Honey, James and the Cold Gun and The Foxies, there was something for everyone.
