Skunk Anansie Return With Powerful New Single “Lost and Found” Ahead of Highly Anticipated Album The Painful Truth

British rock legends Skunk Anansie have unleashed their compelling new single “Lost and Found”, taken from their upcoming album The Painful Truth, due out May 23rd via FLG Records. Following its global premiere on BBC 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, the track showcases the band’s signature blend of emotional power and cinematic drama, opening with Skin’s raw vocal before building into a thunderous crescendo of piano and passion.
The music video—written and directed by Skin herself—offers a symbolic, backwards-told narrative about inner conflict, identity, and redemption, featuring bandmate Mark Richardson as a demon disguised as a man. Shot in Munich, it’s a haunting visual companion to a song that’s already making waves.
The Painful Truth marks a bold new era for Skunk Anansie, capturing the intensity of a band who have not only defined British rock over decades but continue to break boundaries. The album, their first under FLG Records, cements their status as genre-defying icons whose message and music are more relevant than ever.
In the lead-up to the release, Skunk Anansie will headline The Independent newspaper’s stage at The Great Escape Festival on May 16th, followed by an exclusive album launch show near Bristol on May 23rd at Good Times at The Ridings, joined by Republica.
The summer heats up further as Skunk Anansie join Smashing Pumpkins as special guests for two massive UK outdoor shows:
- August 10th – Gunnersbury Park, London
- August 14th – Colchester Castle Summer Series
With The Painful Truth, Skunk Anansie are not just making a comeback—they’re proving why they remain one of the most vital and visionary forces in rock.

Stay tuned for tour announcements, exclusive content, and more surprises from Skunk Anansie. This is The Painful Truth – and it’s going to be loud. 🎸🔥
