This week, the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham was transformed into an electrifying rock sanctuary as three bands delivered a powerhouse performance that left the crowd exhilarated and craving for more. The evening was headlined by none other than Swedish rock titans, HEAT, supported by fellow Swedes Art Nation, and the captivating Chez Kane. The excitement in the room was high, and the audience was treated to an unforgettable night of pure rock ‘n’ roll.

Chez Kane: A Stellar Opening Act

The night kicked off with Chez Kane, a name that’s been on the rise in the rock scene, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment she stepped on stage, Chez exuded confidence and charisma, instantly captivating the audience with her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence. Opening with “Too Late for Love,” she immediately set the tone for the night, a blend of classic rock vibes and modern energy that resonated deeply with the crowd.

Despite playing a short set of only six songs, they delivered each one with passion and stage presence that was undeniable.

The set opened with “Brutal and Beautiful,” setting an intense tone right from the start. They followed with the electrifying “Thunderball,” keeping the energy high. Their performance culminated with the anthemic “Need You to Understand,” leaving the crowd in sheer euphoria.

Frontman Alexander Strandell, dressed in a coat that made him look like he’d just stepped off the set of the film Highlander, commanded the stage with infectious enthusiasm. His dynamic performance drew the audience in from the first note. The band’s set was a masterclass in rock prowess, with soaring guitar solos, thundering drums, and powerful vocals. Art Nation’s chemistry was undeniable, each member feeding off the other’s energy and delivering a performance that was as tight as it was electrifying.

As the headliners, HEAT, took the stage, the excitement in the Rescue Rooms reached a fever pitch. Known for their high-octane performances and boundless energy, the Swedish rockers were ready to go.

HEAT opened with their latest song “Disaster,” a track from their forthcoming album set to release later this year. The new song was a perfect start, immediately grabbing the crowd’s attention and setting the tone for an epic night. From that moment, HEAT had the audience in the palm of their hand.

The band’s frontman, Kenny Leckremo, was a whirlwind of energy, his powerful vocals cutting through the air and igniting the crowd. Kenny’s magnetic stage presence, combined with the band’s flawless musicianship, created a performance that was nothing short of electrifying.

Halfway through the set, the band left the stage, leaving drummer Don Crash to entertain the crowd with an exhilarating solo. Pounding the skins, he had a little singalong with the audience before unleashing his rhythmic skills to a backing track of Flash Gordon. The crowd captivated by his drumming prowess.

HEAT’s set was a rollercoaster of rock anthems and crowd-pleasers, each song delivered with precision and passion. Tracks like “Living on the Run,” “Harder To Breath,” and “Rise” had the audience singing along at the top of their lungs, while the band’s technical prowess shone through in every note. The guitar solos were blistering, the rhythm section was thunderous.

Kenny Leckremo took a moment to get nostalgic, recalling HEAT’s very first gig in the UK, which coincidentally was also in Nottingham. When he asked the crowd who had been at that gig, a substantial number of hands shot up into the air. Kenny’s beaming smile said it all, reflecting his deep appreciation for the longevity of the crowd’s support.

Towards the tail end of the set Leckremo introduced a new and unreleased song “Bad Time For Love” and it went down a storm with the crowd. Judging by the reaction the new songs have received tonight can only mean the soon to be released new album is going to be a bit of a banger.

The Finale

As HEAT closed their set with the epic “Tearing Down the Walls,” the entire room seemed to erupt in a collective burst of energy. As the final notes rang out, the crowd erupted into a frenzy of applause and cheers leaving them in awe of what they had just witnessed. The band’s relentless energy, combined with their undeniable talent, made for a performance that was both exhilarating and unforgettable. 

This gig at Rescue Rooms in Nottingham was a testament to the enduring power of rock music.
