The Darkness Unleash Explosive New Single ‘I Hate Myself’ and Announce UK Dreams On Toast Tour
The Darkness premiered their electrifying new single, ‘I Hate Myself’, last night with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2. The track, a punk rock glam anthem, is the second single from their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Dreams On Toast, set for release on March 28th via Cooking Vinyl. Fans can pre-order the album here.
The Single: ‘I Hate Myself’
With its swaggering riffs, soaring falsetto, and fiery solos, ‘I Hate Myself’ captures the signature sound of The Darkness. The track chronicles self-reflection and personal growth, offering a raucous ode to self-loathing. Justin Hawkins shares, “At last, a joyous, raucous celebration of self-loathing… It’s time for us to sing this uplifting ode to remorse in the hope that we don’t make the same mistakes again.”
Described as a sonic amalgamation of Status Quo, Slade, Cheap Trick, and Motörhead, the single is pure The Darkness brilliance.
