British Blues Rock At Its Best -When Rivers Meet gig review Rescue Rooms Nottingham

When Rivers Meet are in town tonight at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms. As part of their month-long tour the husband-and-wife duo are bringing the best of British blues rock with their headlining “Breaker Of Chains” Tour.

The band took to the stage slightly later than planned and were given a massive cheer as they walked out. Kicking off the  show Grace & Aaron performed one of their latest offerings “Play My Game”. Grace strutted her stuff as she prowled across the stage, punching the air and gesturing to the crowd as she sang. Three songs in and the multi award winning duo play their biggest hit to date “Did I Break The Law”. The rhythmic sound of Aarons guitar had the audience nodding their heads.

When Rivers Meet played a range of songs from their first EP “Uprising” to the latest single “Perfect Stranger”. Every song on the setlist was a crowd pleaser with many dancing and singing along. Midway through the set Grace and Aaron sing “Tomorrow”, a song that they explained nearly didn’t make it to the EP. As they sing the lyrics, they give a warm feeling of togetherness showing to the crowd just how close the husband-and-wife duo really are.

Ending the regular set with “Lost And Found” The band were joined on stage by the amazing guitarist and support act “Arielle”. With the song over the band left the stage but there was no chance of them leaving the venue as the sell out Nottingham crowd chanted and clapped for more.

Returning to the stage When Rivers Meet went on to play two more songs. The crowd are encouraged to sing and clap along by Grace who was now providing some string sounds of her own courtesy of the violin in her hands. Finishing the night with a rocking performance of “Testify”. The end of the song is met with rapturous cheers and applause from the crowded Rescue Rooms.

Summing up tonight When Rivers Meet demonstrated why they are winning so many awards. Their musical talent and the songs in their catalogue easily win over any crowd in front of them. Their unique style of Blues Rock is developing and the latest songs that they are performing are a good indication the soon to be released album will be a hit! Grace & Aaron get your speeches written as I’m sure it won’t be long until you are adding another award to your collection.
