The announcement comes in the form of an open letter to the late Lemmy, in which the band reflect on the long journey to complete the record and the advice Lemmy once gave them: “No matter what, stay true to yourselves. Don’t worry about all the other bullshit in the music industry. Make music that your roadies will like. Because they’ve heard your shit more than anyone else, if they like it, everyone will love it.”
Joel O’Keeffe writes: “Mates, we did it. We shut the roller doors to everyone and got to work writing songs for this record… After about five years of this, we felt that we had a solid bunch of Rock‘n’Roll songs happening… We sent everything to Brian Howes, and he said we have a solid record now… The roadies love this one! Thank fuck! Only took us 20 years!”
The band recorded the album across multiple locations, including Music Farm Studios in a jungle on the Australian surf coast, enduring hurricanes, snakes, and a temperamental tape machine. They later finished at Hothouse Studios in Melbourne with additional contributions from Mutt Lange, Bryan Adams and Vick Wright.
