JAYLER: Acoustic Album Preview Live at Karma Sanctum Soho

Stripped-back, full-band, and full of promise

There’s something special about seeing a rock band strip everything back. Yesterday afternoon at Karma Sanctum Soho, JAYLER delivered exactly that, offering an exclusive full-band acoustic preview of their upcoming album in an intimate and effortlessly cool setting.

A Raw and Refined Performance

With the full lineup in place but the volume dialed down, the set struck a perfect balance between raw energy and musical refinement. James and Tyler remained at the heart of the performance, their chemistry as strong as ever. However, the addition of Ed Evans on drums and Ricky Hodgkiss on bass provided a richness that elevated the acoustic arrangements.

The band opened with “I’ll Meet You There,” immediately drawing the room in. This acoustic setting allowed every element to breathe—subtle rhythms, warm basslines, and vocals that felt front and center without overpowering the room.

Highlights: New Music and Fan Favorites

The setlist showcased the maturity of JAYLER’s songwriting, featuring tracks that land with emotional weight and melodic clarity:

  • “Hate to See It End” – A masterclass in acoustic storytelling.
  • “Bitter Sweet” – Highlighting the band’s ability to balance grit with melody.
  • “I Roam” (Unreleased) – The clear highlight of the afternoon. This new track offers an exciting glimpse into the band’s next chapter, featuring a chorus destined for stadium-sized energy.
  • “Down Below” – A darker, more atmospheric tone that added a haunting contrast to the set.
  • “Riverboat Queen” – Delivered with signature swagger and a nod to their classic influences.

The band closed the afternoon with “Love Maker,” wrapping up the set with a level of confidence that left the captivated crowd wanting more.

The Verdict: A Statement of Intent

This wasn’t just a casual unplugged session; it was a statement. This performance proved that JAYLER possesses a clear sense of identity and the technical skill to back it up. If this preview is anything to go by, the new JAYLER album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
