Continental Lovers Double Single Drop “Screwing Your Life Up” + “Bad Little Go-Go Girl”

Nottingham sleaze-punk heroes Continental Lovers are ending 2025 exactly how they started their career – loud, filthy, and gloriously unpolished.

On Monday 15 December 2025 they dropped not one, but two brand new singles on the same day: “Screwing Your Life Up” “Bad Little Go-Go Girl”

Both tracks were cut the old-school way: the four of them in one room, amps cranked, basic tracks recorded completely live, overdubs kept to an absolute minimum.

Joe Maddox (lead vocals/guitar) explains:

“Our last single (Connection) was super slick and polished. This time out, I wanted us to recapture the sound of our first E.P, so we went in the studio and recorded the basic tracks live, with us all in the same room, and kept the overdubs to a minimum. I’m very happy with the results and I hope our fans love the new songs as much as we do.”

He continues on the songs themselves:

“Screwing Your Life Up is a riff I borrowed from another song I wrote a couple of years ago that I just couldn’t finish. I wrote a new chorus and bridge and re-wrote the lyrics and here it is. It’s a song about the pull of addiction, which is quite a heavy subject matter for us. I wanted to write something a bit different. Bad Little Go-Go Girl comes from a musical idea Ben had. He came up with the music, and I tweaked the chorus and bridge a bit. Then I wrote some words that I really wanted to get stuck in your head, hence the call and response chorus. It’s a key shift in it towards the end of the song. It’s got a bit of power!”

Quick Review (No Spoilers, Just Truth)

These are the rawest, most urgent three minutes Continental Lovers have put on tape since their debut EP. “Screwing Your Life Up” is a genuine sleaze-punk classic – dark, addictive, and impossible to shake. “Bad Little Go-Go Girl” is the sugar-rush flip-side: massive call-and-response hooks, a killer key change, and pure Saturday-night danger.

Together they’re the strongest one-two punch the band have ever delivered. 9/10.
