Bowling For Soup & able machines Team Up for Elastica “Connection” Cover

Pop-punk icons Bowling For Soup have joined forces with Los Angeles electro-pop duo able machines (singer-songwriter Tay Côlieé and producer Linus Dotson) for a magnetic, high-energy cover of Elastica’s 1994 Britpop classic “Connection.” Released January 10, 2026, the track fuses BFS’s infectious pop-punk bounce with able machines’ sleek electronic soundscapes – a perfect marriage of 90s alt-rock nostalgia and modern production flair.

Jaret Reddick (BFS frontman): “I have always loved this song! We used to play it in the van non-stop! One day I was listening to a new able machines song and just thought… My best friend, Bowling For Soup’s producer, Linus of Hollywood is in an Electronic band! We should do this ‘Connection’ together! Even the song title is perfect for this collab! Luckily, Linus and Tay liked the idea, and ran with it! I am so stoked for how this turned out… The video is next level!”

The tongue-in-cheek music video, filmed in and around iconic Los Angeles locations (including spots used for Star Trek and other sci-fi classics), leans into retro-futuristic visuals with the bands in full alien-invasion mode – a playful nod to the song’s theme of feeling “connected” across space and time.

able machines: The Electro-Pop Duo Behind the Collab

Formed in 2019 when Tay Côlieé (ghost-writer for Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello) met Linus Dotson (Linus of Hollywood – producer for Charlatans UK, Cheap Trick, Smashing Pumpkins; Nerf Herder member) via Craigslist, able machines blend dark lyrical imagery with concise pop hooks over electronic landscapes. This marks their first major rock crossover.

Bowling For Soup & Frank Turner – Bowl My Bones UK Tour 2026

Fresh off their career-best OVO Arena Wembley show (December 2025), BFS return to the UK in summer 2026 for the Bowl My Bones Tour with folk-punk royalty Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls – the first full UK run together after years of friendship and fan demand (sparked by pandemic livestreams and mutual admiration).

Frank Turner: “I love summer, I love touring, and I really love Bowling For Soup. So let’s cut to the chase and do them all at the same time! These shows are going to be a lot of fun, I’m honoured to be part of the adventure.”

Jaret Reddick: “Discovering Frank Turner’s music happened at an important time in my life… Now, many years later, I get to call him friend, and touring with him and The Sleeping Souls in his home country of the UK seems unreal to me. I think these are going to be special Summer nights that none of us will forget! Stoked!!!”
