New Rainbow song this Friday
Ritchie Blackmore confirmes New Rainbow song this Friday.
After 26 years we are finally getting a new Rainbow this Friday the 26th. The new single “Land of Hope and Glory” will be released with a new recording of I Surrender with Ronnie Romero on vocals.
Last year saw a few live shows which understandably sold out in minutes. Its been two decades since we had any thing new from Rainbow but Ritchie Blackmore has said in an interview with a magazine in Japan’s called Burrn! that two new songs have been recorded to be possibly released as singles. 2017 sees the band doing more live shows with the new signer Ronnie Romero (Lead signer of Lords of Black) who has provided the vocals for the new tracks.
In Burrn magazine Ritchie said “I wrote one new song, and also recorded one of the old ones,” On the subject of Romero he said “When I heard him, he seemed like the right guy to sing the Dio era songs of Rainbow, He is versatile, he can sing like Freddie Mercury or Ronnie James Dio or Graham Bonnet.”
“The reason I did not ask Joe Lynn Turner to get involved in the Rainbow comeback is because I thought European fans wanted to hear the Dio lineup of Rainbow.
Joe Lynn Turner was very vocal in his opinion last year that Rainbow should be using the orginal singers rather than using Romero.
They released a live DVD of the 2016 concert at Monsters of Rock Germany. See a clip below or click on the cover to order yours.
