Will Wilde – The Blues Is Still Alive Album Launch at 100 Club

Will Wilde at 100 Club – A Night of Unforgettable Blues Rock

Will Wilde brought his electrifying blues rock sound to London’s 100 Club on March 4, 2025, delivering an unforgettable album launch for “The Blues Is Still Alive.”

What a superb evening of blues rock we had at the iconic 100 Club on London’s Oxford Street. The intimate venue was packed with fans eager to see and hear the fantastic Will Wilde at this launch show of his latest album, “The Blues is Still Alive.”

And alive it is, thanks in no small part to Will Wilde and the music he makes. Touted as one of the world’s top harmonica players, and with legends like Walter Trout guesting on his recordings, Will Wilde is certainly a force to be reckoned with in the genre.

Will Wilde’s Explosive Live Performance

Tonight’s show saw Will Wilde surrounded by a superb band that transported the crowd from London to Chicago via the Mississippi Delta, all while rocking hard.

Thea Watson and Star Circus (who we last saw at Call of the Wild last May) got the room warmed up. After a short break, Will Wilde burst onto the stage playing the harmonica, his sparkly shirt glittering off the lights, and we were off.

The energy that came from Will Wilde was infectious, and the crowd wasted no time rushing towards the stage, shoulder to shoulder, singing and having a good time.

‘Wild Man’ – how appropriate – opened the show before continuing the new album material with ‘Stole My Love’ and ‘Don’t Play With Fire’.

The audience happily and enthusiastically joined in with some call and response, really connecting with the band and with Will Wilde’s commanding stage presence.

Special Guests and Unforgettable Collaborations

The 100 Club stage got crowded as the band were joined on stage by Dani Wilde (Will’s sister) and Lindsey from Brave Rival, returning the favour after Will Wilde joined them onstage at Dingwalls back in September (see our review here).

He was more than happy to share the stage with these female powerhouses, and it was obvious he was buzzing about having them up on stage performing with him. They, too, were revelling in the evening, singing backing vocals and dancing back to back.

After a chat with the audience about “The Blues Is Still Alive” and working with Walter Trout, the music continued with songs from the album including ‘Broken Dream Blues’ and ‘Trouble of That Girl’.

There were some impassioned covers too, notably of The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ ‘I Believe in Love’ and the Canned Heat classic ‘On the Road Again’.

Encore: A Tribute to the Blues Legends

A short break saw the crowd asking for more, and the band returned for another cover version—what a way to finish, with Gary Moore’s sublime ‘Parisienne Walkways’.

Will Wilde is going from strength to strength. His harmonica playing is like nothing you’ve heard before, and with a top-tier band (Steve Rushton on drums, Greg Coulson on keys, Bobby Harrison on guitar, and Russell Carr on bass), he deserves all the plaudits he’s been getting.

We can’t wait to see Will Wilde again.
