Who Are Electric Pets?
Bursting onto the scene in 2022, Electric Pets have already left a lasting impression. With four singles and two EPs released via Reckless Yes Records, their infectious sound has earned them strong support from BBC Introducing and Radio X. They’ve recorded multiple live sessions and received repeated airplay from radio legend John Kennedy on his popular show, Xposure.
The band’s streaming numbers speak for themselves—over 120,000 plays on Spotify, while physical copies of their EPs sold out in weeks.
Electric Pets Live – Festival Favorites
Electric Pets made an unforgettable live debut at the Y-Not Festival in July 2022, quickly securing slots at major festivals like Hockley Hustle, Beat The Streets, and a headline show at London’s Hampstead Arts Centre. In 2023, they returned to Y-Not Festival—this time on the BBC Introducing stage—and graced the lineup at Splendour Festival in Nottingham’s Wollaton Park.
The band shows no signs of slowing down in 2025, with new music and more festival appearances lined up, including the exciting debut of Burton-on-Trent’s Sonic Boom festival.
New Single: ‘Kowtow!’ – A Bittersweet Anthem of Liberation
Electric Pets kick off 2024 with their most ambitious release yet—‘Kowtow!’, a powerful track that blends melancholy and euphoria. The song begins with a pensive, reflective tone before erupting into an explosive climax that captures the tension of holding on and letting go.
Phil Wagg, the band’s composer, describes ‘Kowtow!’ as his attempt to craft the perfect happy/sad song:
“I strive to create songs that are uplifting and positive, but also quietly beautiful and steeped in melancholy. That was the starting point for ‘Kowtow!'”
Frontwoman Emma Buckley adds:
