Rock City Roars: Jared James Nichols’ Phenomenal Performance

Jared James Nichols

Nichols and his band stormed the stage at Nottingham’s Rock City, delivering a nine-song set that left the substantial crowd roaring for more. Kicking off with “Easy Come, Easy Go” from his 2023 album, Jared set the tone for an electrifying night.

With a grin as wide as his riffs, Nichols expressed his joy at being back at Rock City, a venue he’s graced multiple times. During “Down The Drain,” he playfully urged the audience to sing along, and for those who didn’t, he jokingly gestured for them to leave.

The venue’s dim lighting in hues of red, blue, and yellow, combined with a smoke machine, transported the audience straight into an ’80s MTV rock video. All that was missing was a wind machine to blow Jared’s long hair as he shredded solo after solo at the front of the stage.

Nichols continued to dazzle with tracks like “Bad Roots” and “Good Time Girl” from his album “Skin ‘n Bone.” His guitar, seemingly a toy in his massive hands, screamed out notes as his face contorted with every riff.

As the set drew to a close, Jared unleashed the phenomenal “Nails In The Coffin,” warming up the crowd’s voices for the grand finale—a blistering cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.” The audience’s voices echoed through the venue as they sang along to the classic anthem.

With the overwhelming appreciation he received, it’s clear that Jared James Nichols will be back in Nottingham soon. Do yourself a favour and grab a ticket for his next show—he’s a live artist you don’t want to miss.
