Epic Showdown: Saint Asonia, Any Given Sin, and Scars Remain Take Greensboro by Storm!

Live music promoter Cutthroat Concerts & Events delivered another unforgettable show at Hangar 1819 in Greensboro, NC, this past Friday night. The lineup featured the supergroup Saint Asonia, rockers Any Given Sin, and local favorites Scars Remain. Fans of all ages eagerly lined up at the door, anticipating a night to remember. Hangar 1819, formerly known as The Blind Tiger, proved to be a cozy venue accommodating up to 500 people, complete with a bar, smoking area, and ample space for merchandise tables. To my surprise, they even had a photo pit, which was an unexpected bonus. So, grab your drinks and merch, and let’s prepare for an amazing show!
Scars Remain
Kicking off the evening was North Carolina’s own Scars Remain, a hard rock quartet from Charlotte. With vocalist Travis Keziah, Andy Allen on bass, Kyle Spidel on guitar, and Jim Clardy on drums, they commanded the stage with their raw and authentic sound. Since their formation in 2017, Scars Remain has become a local favorite, blending the essence of Charlotte’s diverse music scene with their unique style.
Scars Remain set the stage ablaze! Opening with their song “Stand and Fight,” these charismatic rock stars set the perfect tone for the night. Their setlist included crowd favorites like “What You Give,” “Through These Eyes,” “What I’ve Become,” “Never Leave,” and “Disease.” Their energetic performance and clear, passionate vocals resonated with the audience. The venue’s sound and lighting, courtesy of the talented crew, were top-notch. As the band closed their electrifying 30-minute set with “Write the Story,” I caught up with vocalist Travis Keziah to learn about the band’s plans. Keziah mentioned, “The band will be on a break until May, as we’re working hard to prepare for the rest of the year – including a new album, videos, and more.” Scars Remain truly is a must-see live act. Any Given Sin
With the crowd now warmed up, it was time for Any Given Sin, to take the stage. Hailing from Maryland, the band consists of vocalist Victor Ritchie, guitarist Mike Conner, bassist Rich Stevenson, and drummer Mike Showalter. Their hard-hitting rock music combines metallic intensity with alternative intimacy.
After taking a few days off due to unforeseen circumstances, Any Given Sin kicked off their set with one of their hit songs, “Insidious.” Their electrifying energy was infectious, captivating the audience from the start. Powerhouse vocals and super talented musicianship all around. They really know how to engage the crowd, drawing everyone into their music and creating an unforgettable experience. The sound was loud and clear. The lighting was bright and vibrant. The vibe was nostalgic. The crowd response was overwhelming. The crowd could be heard singing every song. Other songs on their setlist included “Another Life,” “Dynamite,” “War Within,” “Still Sinking,” and “The Way I Say Goodbye,” during which my eyes welled up. That song just hits me in a way that only AGS can explain. To hear it live gave me goosebumps. It was a memorable and emotional moment. The band closed their set with “House on Fire.” If you have not seen Any Given Sin live, you need to add this one to your bucket list. Check out more of Any Given Sin in the hyperlinks listed below.

Saint Asonia
Finally, the last band of the night, headliners Saint Asonia, hit the stage, delivering the wow factor that was expected from a supergroup. Stemming from Canada, the group consists of former Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Cale Gontier, and drummer Cody Watkins. The band kicked off their set with the song “Above It All.” Moving around the stage with energy and grace, the band brought power and raw emotion to a packed venue. The crowd fought to get as close to the barricade as possible to catch a better glimpse of Adam and company. Body heat filled the air, as well as devil horns and even the occasional splash of water or beer. As they played songs such as “Better Place,” “Bite the Bullet,” and even threw in a few Three Days Grace covers, including “Never Too Late,” “I Hate Everything About You,” and “Riot,” as well as their Apocalyptica cover “I Don’t Care,” and hits “Devastate” and “Wolf.”
During the song “Never Too Late,” Adam could be seen tuning his guitar after a few riffs of the intro and giving the crowd an intimate one-on-one interaction. Playing two verses and two choruses, allowing the crowd to take over vocal duties for the second chorus before the rest of the band took to the stage to finish out the song. What an experience that was to be a part of! The crowd response was electric. The sound was amazing. The lighting was spectacular, and the atmosphere was chaotic (in a good way)! The band closed out the night with their song “Let Me Live My Life,” a crowd favorite from what fans have told me. Saint Asonia is a must-see band. If you are a fan of Three Days Grace, you will absolutely love Saint Asonia! You can check out more about the band in the hyperlinks listed below.
