Something That Your Eyes Won’t See – Remedy Album Review

Formed in 2022, Swedish melodic rock band Remedy brings us their debut album ‘Something That Your Eyes Won’t See’. Showing fans just what they bring to the world of rock with 10 fantastic songs that will leave you wanting more.

Balancing head-banging worthy rock with smooth ballads, the band is clearly inspired by classic 80s rock like Rainbow, Def Leppard and Scorpions.

Opening song Living on the Edge showcases just what this band is about, a force of an album opener letting listeners know that they’re in for a treat with these talented musicians led by Roland Forsman.

Remedy Album Review

Half way through the album we have Sundays At Nine, a drops in tempo to take listeners a step further on this emotional journey with a classic rock ballad.

Songwriter and guitarist Roland “Rolli” Forsmann flexes his songwriting muscles on the penultimate track of the album – Sinners And Saints and his guitar work is a reminder as to why Brian May and Roger Taylor picked him to feature in the musical We Will Rock You.

A beautiful piano melody played by Jonas Öijvall introduces ‘Lifeline’, the last track on the album, emotive lyrics pairing with beautiful soft music behind them. This song really emphasises the talent of this band, and the end of this journey of an album. With lines like “you’re my remedy” this song really feels like a love letter to music that I am sure will resonate with listeners. Forsmann’s voice really shows a beautiful versatility here, as well as throughout the entirety of the album – for me a perfect way to end as it leaves you wanting more.

This extraordinary album gives us a true sense of what Remedy can do. Roland Rorsmann, Robert Van Der Zwan, Jonas Öujvall, Jonas Dicklo and Frederick Karlberg are without a doubt brilliant musicians coming together in an uncertain time for the whole world reigniting their own love for music in the best way. Bringing a new music video for their opening track Living on the Edge in a couple of weeks and then a brand new single on November the 24th – just a day ahead of their show in Sandviken. And hopefully another album in the future.

I’m excited to see what’s to come for this band after indulging in the power that is Something That Your Eyes Won’t See.

Samantha Fish announces new album with Jesse Dayton ahead of October UK Tour.
