Halestorm’s Electrifying Performance at Hellfest – Gig review

Halestorm

Sunday saw a wet start with a downpour in the morning. Luckily the sun made an appearance just as Halestorm arrived on stage to the fans who were eagerly awaiting them. The band took to the stage to a rapturous reception, and they wasted no time getting the party started. Frontwoman Lzzy Hale’s powerful vocals soared over the pounding drums and guitars.

The setlist was a mix of old and new, with fan favourites like “I Get Off” and “Love Bites (So Do I)” alongside newer tracks from their latest album, “Back from the Dead.” The band’s musicianship was top-notch, and they clearly enjoyed playing to such a large and enthusiastic crowd.

Lzzy Hale’s voice is a force of nature. It’s powerful, soulful, and versatile. She can belt out a high note with the best of them, but she can also do delicate ballads with just as much grace. Her voice is simply captivating. When she sings, it’s like she’s pouring her heart and soul into every word, and it’s impossible not to be moved by her performance.

Partway through the set Lzzy’s drumming brother Arejay Hale performs a solo. His beating of the skin’s climaxes with Arejay bouncing his stick off a drum and to the amazement on his face he caught it. He then pulled out a pair of oversized drumsticks which caused the crowd to cheer as he completed his solo.

Completing the set with The Steeple saw the Hellfest crowd become the Church as they sang along. Lzzy’s blonde hair flailing around as she headbanged her way through the song. With a fast end to the song Halestorm certainly left the crowd wanting more.

It’s the first time I have seen Halestorm live, and it won’t be the last. If you’re a fan of hard rock or heavy metal, then you owe it to yourself to see Lzzy Hale live. Her voice is simply incredible and makes for an unforgettable show.

Joe Elliot singing was on form and the sound at the venue was excellent. Joe took to the acoustic guitar for the first verse of ‘When Love And Hate Collide.’ As Joe sings the end of the first verse’s lines, he throws his plectrum out in to the crowd which ques Rick Savage, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell to strike their guitars to continue the song electrically.

Samantha Fish announces new album with Jesse Dayton ahead of October UK Tour.
