Grammy-Winning Greta Van Fleet’s Third Studio Album ‘Starcatcher’ Set for Release in July with New Single ‘Meeting The Master’ Out Now
Grammy-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet is all set to release their much-anticipated third studio album titled “Starcatcher” on July 21, 2023, under Lava/Republic/EMI Records. The band’s fans are eagerly waiting for this new release, especially after the announcement of their first single, ‘Meeting The Master’, which is now available to listen and share.
Greta Van Fleet is a renowned rock band that has sold over 3.5 million records worldwide and performed across multiple continents. The band comprises of lead singer Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner. Their debut album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army, was released in 2018, which won the #1 Billboard Rock Album and Top 3 on the Billboard 200. Their second album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, released in 2021, was also a massive success, and now the band is all set to launch their third album, Starcatcher, which is expected to be another big hit.
Starcatcher is a ten-song collection that explores the duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness. The band has utilized the large recording room at the legendary RCA Studios in Nashville to capture the pure energy of their world-renowned live performances. The album has been written and recorded by the band alongside Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, who has previously worked with Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile.
“We didn’t really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual,” says Jake. “If anything, the record is our perspective, and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians.”
The album’s first single ‘Meeting The Master’ is a peek into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher. Sung in the voice of a devout believer, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision. It’s an exotic spiritual journey, a dark comedy that inevitably ends in chaos.
Throughout the ten songs, the band explores various concepts from critically acclaimed second album The Battle at Garden’s Gate and brings them into Starcatcher, although Sam’s take on the new record’s big ideas hint instead at new beginnings. “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher, I think of the cosmos,” he says. “It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’ But it’s also questions like, ‘What is this consciousness that we have, and where did it come from?’”
The band has always been known for their electrifying live performances and has sold over one million tickets worldwide. With Starcatcher, they aim to capture that energy in the recording studio. The band performed at the inaugural Lollapalooza Mumbai and completed an extensive U.S. arena tour in March. Greta Van Fleet will return to the road next month for previously announced festival shows in Atlanta and Memphis, with further shows to come.
Starcatcher is a highly anticipated album that has already created a buzz among the band’s fans. The album promises to be another massive success, just like their previous two albums, and it will surely leave the fans mesmerized. The album is available for pre-save/pre-order, and fans can’t wait to get their hands on it.
In conclusion, Greta Van Fleet’s third studio album, Starcatcher, is expected to be a game-changer for the band, and the fans are eagerly waiting for its release. The album promises to be a ten-song collection that explores various concepts and themes, and the band.
