Ayron Jones – The ‘Filthy’ Seattle Rocker is back in town! Rock City Nottingham Gig Review

It’s been four months since Ayron Jones was in the East Midlands. Last November, the Seattle rock star played the Beta stage in Nottingham. Tonight’s Ayron Jones is on the Main Stage playing his hard-hitting blues rock music to a packed floor inside the legendary Rock City.

Starting the 11-song set with ‘Boys From Puget Sound’, Ayron as soon as he arrives on set begins to expertly pluck at the strings of his guitar. The opening song is about attitude and owning the stage. As the quiet first verse completes, the heavy sounding instrumental blasting from the speakers grabs the attention of the Rock City crowd.

Ayron turns the energy up for ‘Supercharged’. The other members of the band come to life during the song. Brice Ervin provides backing vocals and supply’s basslines with attitude. A cover of Nirvana’s “Breed”, Ayron’s tribute to one of Seattles greatest names was well received by the floor.

A couple of new songs are thrown into the set from the eagerly awaited Ayron Jones second album “Chronicles Of The Kid”. Playing “On Two Feet” and “Blood In The Water” with its poignantly written opening lyrics. Both songs sounded great live and the album which is to be released in June is surely going to be a hit!

‘Filthy’ which is considered a compliment from Ayron’s Seattle hometown is soon followed by “Killing Season”. Patrick Rufflin animatedly played the second guitar and showed his excellent shredding to the venue. Behind the band was the familiar Bobbi Jimmy (Big Sexy) who was crashing away on the drums looking like he is having the time of his life.

Ending the set with two of his biggest hits “Mercy” and “Take Me Away” Ayron had the help of the crowd in front of him. The 1800 Nottingham fans who were lucky enough to get a ticket for tonight’s sell out show can be seen singing and rocking their heads to the brilliantly performed tunes.

With Ayron jones being a favourite artist of Rock News, it’s been great to see him again in a Nottingham venue. The Seattle rocker is still on his way to the top and his impressive performance tonight he has gained a load more fans to join him on his journey. Get yourself a ticket for one of Ayron’s shows and you’ll have a great night of heavy sounding blues rock music.
