Get Your Punk fix with The Dollyrots: Your New Favorite High-Energy Pop-Punk Band!

The Dollyrots gig review. Have you ever been listening to your favorite band on Spotify, only to have it run out of songs and suggest something new? Well, that’s exactly how I discovered The Dollyrots. Since that fateful day, I haven’t been able to get enough of their music, listening to their catchy punk rock tracks on an endless loop.

As soon as I heard them, I knew I had to experience their music live. After all, there’s nothing quite like the energy of a great live performance. So, I set out to find their tour dates, excited at the prospect of seeing this incredible band in person.

For those who aren’t familiar with The Dollyrots (and if you’re not, you really need to be), they’re an American punk rock duo consisting of Kelly Ogden on vocals and bass, and Luis Cabezas on guitar and vocals.

Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas, the duo behind The Dollyrots, have an undeniable passion for their music that is palpable in every performance they give. Their high-energy shows and infectious enthusiasm for their craft have won over audiences all over the world. Whether you’re a longtime fan or seeing them for the first time, it’s impossible not to get caught up in the excitement and energy that they bring to the stage. This is what live music is all about.

The Dollyrots know how to get a crowd going from the moment they step onto the stage. The excitement builds as the loony tunes theme and “Rebel Girl” blare through the speakers. Luis had problems with his mic but they soon had him back, Kelly tells us how they visited Nottingham’s caves, and the first Taco Bell they had found in the UK, before launching into the first song of the night “I Do”.

As the first notes of “Twist Me to the Left” start to play, Luis Cabezas takes command of the stage, encouraging the crowd to clap along and join in on the fun. This song is impossible not to enjoy – its amazing hook is so catchy that it’s bound to make you want to sing along.

Kelly revealed that she had dozed off earlier in the day while in the confessional booth. It was Luis who came to her aid, waking her up with a cold beer. Their long-standing bond since their school days is comes across in the music they create together.

The Dollyrots are well known for their punk-rock renditions of classic cover songs, their take on “Brand New Key” is one of their best. As the band began to play the opening bars to the song, the audience erupts, cheering and clapping with appreciation. Injected with The Dollyrots’ unique style they give the song a new life making it impossible not to sing along with the catchy chorus.

As the second-to-last song approaches, The Dollyrots do something truly special – they bring out their two adorable children, who are like real-life mini versions of the band members. The kids steal the show with River telling his hilarious jokes and Daisy backing him up on drums, the audience can’t help but be charmed by their infectious energy.

This set is like a carefully curated greatest-hits playlist, with every single song being an absolute banger.

As the night draws to a close, The Dollyrots end their set on a high note with their infectious hit, “Because I’m Awesome.” The song’s positive message and catchy melody are the perfect way to cap off an incredible night of punk-rock perfection. The band’s energy and enthusiasm never waver, and their fans leave the show feeling inspired and uplifted. The Dollyrots’ music is more than just great punk rock – it’s a celebration of life, love, and the power of positive energy.

Kelly and Luis are genuinely devoted to their fans, always making time to interact with them, sign their merchandise, and have conversations. They are among the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
