Crooked Revival release their stunning debut EP Back To Freedom. Believe me you have to give this a listen.
Back in the summer at Rock N Blues festival in Derbyshire we came a across an amazing live band called Crooked Revival, they absolutely blew us and the audience away, for us it was the highlight of the whole festival. What was amazing about this performance was it was only the third time they had ever played live. Given this we have been eagerly waiting the first EP Back To Freedom and this week we finally got to hear it.
It’s not often that I can recommend an EP or album that I know you are going to love, but this is defiantly one of those occasions.
The EP kicks off with the stunning Back To Freedom, I have always said that any band lives or dies on the quality of the vocals and James Watsons are would class, I have to make the comparison to Black Stone Cherry’s Chris Robertson. Three songs are just not enough from this band, this just leaves you wanting more. On the last track Something More James reminds me of Chris Cornell. The EP was recorded at Steel City Studios Sheffield and was produced by Callum Benson (Deaf Havana, All Time Low, Being As An Ocean and Hot Milk).
To celebrate the release of the EP, Crooked Revival supported Florence Black at their Leeds gig on their UK tour at The Key Club. They will also be playing with Vardis @ The Underground in Bradford on Saturday 12th November, and supporting Cam Cole on the first stop of his UK tour in Glasgow at Room 2 on Sunday 13th November.

James told Rock News
“Back To Freedom is a collection of songs that truly represent the band and our musical direction. The entire EP was written two weeks before heading into the studio with Callum Benson and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Thank you so much for your kind words! We can’t wait to show everyone what we can do at the live shows!
Wow, I’ve known James since he was a kid in the small village of Thorner. He has grown and matured into an accomplished artist and a wonderful gentleman. Congratulations. Gary Brennan.
PS where can I get tickets for Bradford gig please.
I have seen them three times. They always give a powerful and dynamic performance. They have ‘that extra something’.
