The Darkness Download gig review 2022.

The Darkness (Second Stage) Sunday

Entertaining crowds dating all the way back to 2003 ‘The Darkness’ are no strangers to the stages of ‘Download’. This year they take the Sunday night slot just before second stage headliners ‘Steel Panther’. Performance comes easy to the flamboyant ‘Justin Hawkins’ who tonight is wearing a pink Jump suit and a quck change half way through to a white number from his summer collection. If you check out ‘The Darkness’ website they announce their tour dates, ‘Download’ being one of them, with the words……’The time has come, the walrus said… to put your fookin pants on your head and rock like Satan is eating your private parts with a pointy fork!’…….this is a band who don’t have to take anything seriously as their talent and abilities do the real talking.

Give me D – Give me an Arkness

Performing songs such as `Growing on Me` The Darkness crowd engagement dial is set to the max. I don’t think ill ever get tired of watching ‘The Darkness’ performing ‘I believe In A Thing Called Love’ which is up there as one of  the greatest rock singles of all time, which is probably know by the whole population of the Earth (with the exception of those living under a rock). The band  finish their set with Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End) after chants “Christmas Song”, so in the middle of the summer we are signing Christmas time. The reaction, cheers and applause from the audience must be a real boost to the egos of ‘Justin’ and the boys of  ‘The Darkness’. If not next year it wont be long before ‘The Darkness’ will be back with another 5 star performance on the stages of ‘Download’.
