Eddie & The Wolves gig review – True North festival with The Roster, Caution horses, Animal Room, and No Setting Sun.

Caution Horses

Caution Horses are Brad, Jono & Chris. They formed in Nottingham in 2021 and have been playing quite a few local gigs since then. The debut single Go Get it was released in March this year and sounded fantastic live. They are very easy to listen to and an absolute treat to see live. I highly recommend you go and see them if you get the chance. I’ll definitely be going to see them again.

Animal Room

Animal Room are an indie, rock & pop covers band formed in 2016 in the Midlands.  You can see from the setlist the kind of things they play and they do them all well. Really well. I’ve seen them before, in a smallish pub and the entire pub was up and dancing and singing along.  If you want a fun night with songs you know, animal room will not disappoint.

No Setting Sun

No Setting Sun are a four-piece rock band from the East Midlands, supercharged with massive guitar tones and catchy melodies.  If you like your rock heavy, go see them. Soon!  I’ve seen them a few times and they never disappoint.

They worked their way through an incredible set of original songs that made you want to get up and dance, fist pump & mosh.  The singer Mike has an incredible voice and reminds me of Scott Weiland but by no means a copy. The entire band owned the stage and kept me hooked from start to finish.

The Rooster

The Roster are an indie 5 piece rock band from Derby.  Their sound is like an early Arctic Monkeys, which I was absolutely loving. I will definitely be going to see them play again. In October last year they had the Radio Derby BBC introducing track of the week with Scene of Green. They played a few unreleased tracks as well as a really great version of Stevie Wonders Signed Sealed Delivered.

All in all an absolutely smashing set from a group that are definitely going places.

Eddie & The Wolves are a Derby based 4 piece rock & blues hurricane.  Frontman Eddie plays guitar and sings.  His wife Char also sings and plays a drum, which I’m sure she takes all her frustration out off!  She also designs all the merch. Bass player Kian also provides backing vocals and last but by no means least is Liam keeping it all together on the drums.  Did I also mention that they all really channel the rock god image?? These guys are going places.

They released their debut album, War,  a year ago and have not long completed their first UK tour.

Most of tonight’s set was from the debut album. Burning Embers & Nine Lives are both hot as hell, while I Could be Yours is a slower it’s still as hot. Vindictive is a song sung by Char about her ex.  The way she sings it and hits that drum, you can feel every bit of emotion that she has poured into it.

They also include a cover of The Chain, hut it’s not a copy, it has their sound stamped all over it.

We are treated to new song, Bad Touch which gives us an insight into how the new album will sound and it’s going to be good.  The last song is one of my favourites, War.  If you haven’t seen them, you really need to.
