THE SUBWAYS Announce HMS ALCOPOP-A-CRUISER Boat Show
Newly-returned Hertfordshire, UK indie punk favourites THE SUBWAYS are delighted to announce that they will headline a very special HMS ALCOPOP-A-CRUISER show onboard a boat on the River Thames on 17th September 2021.
Completing the lineup for London’s nautical event of the year will be Tellison, Beach Riot (serving as their Subatomic Party Cool debut album release show) and some very special guests TBA.
With capacity limited to 150, this is going to sell out FAST. Tickets are on sale now priced £26 from ethical ticketing company Ticketpass, who donate 50% of your booking fee to a charity of your choice.
HMS ALCOPOP-A-CRUISER will be setting sail from Temple Pier at 7pm-11pm (don’t be late).
THE SUBWAYS Announce HMS ALCOPOP-A-CRUISER Boat Show
Commenting on the event, Alcopop! Records owner Jack Clothier says: “Back in 2016, when the world was well, Stephen from Tellison sat at The Brixton Windmill and politely suggested we ran Alcopopacruiser—a show on a boat, with bands, and many awesome people. So we did, and had the very best fun. Finally, it’s back…a rock show and a river cruise, taking in the highlights of London Town with some of the best live bands ever known!”
“The event will be 100% COVID safe, and attendees will receive full refunds if the event is unable to go ahead, but with confidence in our hearts, it’s all aboard for the feel good event of the (late) summer!”
“Oh, and we’re so sorry, but it is 18+. We’ve asked if we can get round that, but we really can’t. Also, access will be a problem so if you have any worries, or are not sure it’ll work for you, please get in touch and we can help out.”
To celebrate the news, the band have partnered with label mates Tokky Horror for an exclusive b-side remix of their latest Black Lives Matter-inspired single ‘Fight’, released digitally on 29th June 2021.
Commenting on the remix, Tokky Horror’s Zee Davine said: “The Subways were one of those bands who always stood out among the landfill indie scene of the time as something cut from harder stuff. I felt like we could see how hard we could push them, especially with the political ferocity behind the song, while maintaining the melody.”
Throughout September 2021, the band will also be embarking on the remainder of their rescheduled Young For Eternity Tour dates with ART BRUT, as well as playing a handful of newly-announced intimate gigs (see below for full listings).
