The Darkness – A Very brief History of The Brothers Hawkins
It all started with Dan and Justin playing in a covers band. The original band name was Empire which they later renamed to The Darkness. In 2003 they released their debut album Permission to Land which shot to number two in the UK charts and later got to the number one slot.
In 2006 it all went wrong with Justin being admitted to rehab and later leaving the band. During this time Justin has limited success as British Whale and with the band Hot Leg.
In 2011 they patched up their differences and got back together. since that day the band has gone from strength to strength and the rest as they say is history.

Many amazing memories and many more to come with the guys and the fans! One stick out moment was when the guys did our gender reveal for our baby daughter in Birmingham, December 2019. I’m looking forward to finally seeing the guys again this year and hopefully introducing them to my beautiful baby girl <3
Great story Richard, thanks for sharing.
